VMware Engineer/System Engineer/System Admin-100% Remote

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled VMware Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our virtualization environment. The ideal candidate will manage VMware vSphere, vSAN, and related infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of virtualized systems. Key Responsibilities: • Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and clusters. • Design, implement, and manage VMware vSAN, storage, and networking components in a virtualized infrastructure. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize virtualized environments for performance, capacity, and security. • Implement disaster recovery solutions and backup strategies for VMware environments. • Manage upgrades, patching, and lifecycle of VMware software and hardware infrastructure. • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and storage teams for end-to-end infrastructure solutions. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and diagrams. • Support virtualization projects, migrations, and cloud integrations. • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry best practices. Qualifications / Skills: • Proven experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN. • Hands-on experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, HCI) and networking in virtual environments. • Experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions for VMware. • Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible, or Terraform (preferred). • Strong troubleshooting skills for virtualization, storage, and network issues. • Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and Active Directory is a plus. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Certifications (Preferred): • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Data Center Virtualization • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) • VMware vSAN Specialist or Design Expert (optional but desirable) Experience: • Minimum 3 5 years of experience in VMware administration, engineering, or virtualization projects. • Experience managing enterprise-scale VMware environments and storage infrastructure.
