About the position The Cloud Engineering and DevOps team is focused on providing reliable and stable cloud infrastructure and release solutions for Venmo services to run upon. Responsibilities • Lead key initiatives within your domain, driving impactful solutions. • Mentor engineers through hands-on contributions and best practice advocacy. • Guide application teams to enhance their AWS cloud capabilities. • Drive the scalability and reliability of Venmo's cloud infrastructure with autonomy and accountability. • Drive cloud excellence by providing strategic guidance, thought leadership, and hands-on mentorship to empower application teams and elevate their cloud capabilities. • Develop automation tools, troubleshoot incidents, and enhance infrastructure quality, reliability, and stability. Requirements • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years in software development. • 5+ years operating distributed applications in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams. • 2+ years technical leadership experience. • Extensive hands-on experience with global-scale infrastructure (AWS preferred), IaaS/PaaS, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). • Proficient in Python, Java, Bash, or Go with strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
