Senior Systems/Product Architecture Consultant for Fintech, Loyalty, and Marketplace

We are building a new platform — the first unified sports loyalty infrastructure connecting sports inventory with major loyalty programs. We are looking for a high-level Systems/Product Architect to help us define and document our Phase 1 platform architecture before engineering begins. This is NOT coding. This is business systems architecture, platform design, and requirements definition across: inventory ingestion + normalization dynamic pricing rights/IP rules identity & entitlements Merchant of Record flows (MOR) refunds, cancellations, and replacement logic points ledger design settlement flows partner API integrations admin + internal tooling compliance (tax, KYC/AML) WHAT YOU WILL DELIVER: High-level platform architecture diagram Detailed systems requirements document (SRD) API-level thinking (not code, just structure & endpoints) Flows for: pricing, rights, refunds, settlement, identity, ledger Phase 1 vs Phase 2 sequencing and dependencies Risk map & blind spots Optional: Assist in interviewing our full-time Chief Product Architect candidates WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: A consultant with experience in two or more of the following domains: Fintech / payments / settlement / chargebacks Loyalty or rewards (points issuance, burn, transfer) Marketplace architecture (pricing engines, reservations, supply ingestion) Inventory-based commerce platforms (Expedia, Uber, Airbnb, ticketing) Travel or e-commerce MOR flows API platform design Rights/IP-driven systems IDEAL BACKGROUNDS: Stripe / Checkout.com / Adyen architecture experience Loyalty platforms (Bilt, Points.com, Rakuten, Chase/Amex Travel) Travel/marketplace (Uber, Airbnb, Expedia, Booking) Sports or rights-based platforms (Fanatics, OneTeam Partners, Ticketing) Senior/Staff Product Managers or Architects ENGAGEMENT TYPE 10–20 hours to start Paid strategic architecture consulting Potential for ongoing advisory Strong chance of supporting the hiring/onboarding of our full-time Chief Product Architect WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE A clear, coherent, high-level architecture we can give to engineering Identification of critical path and must-build-first components Clarity on sequencing to prepare for bank/loyalty partner integrations Confidence that our architecture is scalable and bank-proof OUR WORKING STYLE Very fast-moving Clear, thoughtful communication Founder-led product direction Collaboration with future CTO/CPO candidates PLS APPLY IF YOU HAVE ANY OF FOLLOWING: Designed a fintech or loyalty platform Built a points or rewards engine Created MOR/tax/refund/settlement flows Architected dynamic pricing or supply systems Designed large-scale APIs for partners WHEN APPLYING, INCLUDE: A brief explanation of your most relevant architecture project Any experience with loyalty, fintech, or marketplace platforms Your hourly rate Availability over the next 2–4 weeks Apply tot his job
