About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Property Valuation Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in property assessment, valuation methodologies, and risk management who enjoy applying data-driven insights to improve valuation accuracy and organizational performance. The Property Valuation Specialist will investigate valuation discrepancies, assess systemic risks, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities • Conduct detailed valuation reviews to identify systemic issues, risks, and trends using valuation expertise, investigative methods, and data mining techniques. • Prepare and present review reports outlining findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions to senior management or Quality Assurance Committees. • Apply a risk profiling framework to assess and prioritize valuation risks and communicate the impact and rationale of recommendations to business units. • Coordinate responses to external enquiries and complaints, including those from oversight bodies such as provincial Ombudsmen. • Support national property assessment projects, identifying comparative benchmarks, best practices, and responding to ad-hoc data or information requests. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop corrective action plans, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress toward resolution. • Develop and maintain valuation standards and metrics, ensuring consistent application and alignment with industry best practices. • Provide strategic input to help improve organizational valuation methodologies and ensure continued adherence to quality and compliance standards. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Property Valuation, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in property valuation, quality assurance, or risk management, preferably within a regulatory or assessment organization. • Strong understanding of valuation standards, quality frameworks, and assessment procedures. • Skilled in data analysis, risk assessment, and report writing. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present findings to diverse stakeholders. • Experience with valuation software, GIS, or data analytics tools is an asset. • Familiarity with property assessment regulations and market practices preferred.
