IT Security Intern

Join USG Corporation as a Cyber Security Intern to gain hands-on experience protecting digital assets and supporting IT security initiatives in a hybrid work environment. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Assist in documenting security policies, procedures, and incident reports. • Proactively monitor the environment to detect and mitigate cyber-attacks. • Participate in threat hunting and threat detection activities. • Help perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under supervision. • Use a range of enterprise security tools to perform tasks. • Monitor security alerts and assist in triage. • Manage security-related tickets and respond to or resolve them as needed. • Collaborate with fellow interns within the internship program. About You The company is looking for candidates with: • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical staff. • Timely and accurate distribution of information and reports related to information security activities. • Familiarity with security principles, practices, and technologies. • Knowledge of the NIST and MITRE ATT&CK Frameworks. • Understanding of networking, firewalls, SIEM, EDR, IDPS, and DLP concepts. • Ability to work cross-functionally with other IT units on shared projects and initiatives. • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security Engineering, or a related field.
