Grad Staffing & Operations Coordinator - Human Resources Specialist 1

The Grad Staffing & Operations Coordinator is responsible for delivering professional human resource services for the Graduate Engineer and Land Surveyor Program, including classification, recruitment, and staffing, while also serving as a coordinator to ensure program milestones are met. Responsibilities Deliver professional human resource (HR) services for the Graduate Engineer and Land Surveyor Program (GELSP), including classification, recruitment and selection, compensation, and staffing Provide backup HR support to Career Pathway Programs (CPP) staff as needed Serve as the GELSP operations coordinator, ensuring trainees receive the necessary materials, documentation, and training to meet all program milestones Contribute to CPP HR special projects aimed at developing and refining GELSP personnel procedures, policies, operation standards, and processes Serve as a CPP recruiter Travel 30% in Spring and Fall for recruitment events Skills A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a closely related field; OR One year of professional (MAPE 05L or higher) experience in Human Resources; OR Two years of technical experience in Human Resources or a related field Experience researching, evaluating, and analyzing information Experience preparing and communicating information in writing Valid Class D Driver's License Experience with recruitment and/or vacancy filling Previous experience with collective bargaining agreements and plans, particularly MGEC Advanced SEMA4 experience and Recruiting Solutions experience Benefits Paid vacation and sick leave 12 paid holidays each year Low-cost medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans Fertility care, including IVF Diabetes care Dental and orthodontic care for adults and children 6 weeks paid leave for parents of newborn or newly adopted children Pension plan that provides income when you retire (after working at least three years) Employer paid life insurance to provide support for your family in the event of death Short-term and long-term disability insurance that can provide income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury Tax-free expense accounts for health, dental, and dependent care Resources that provide support and promote physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being Training, classes, and professional development Tuition reimbursement MnDOT Student Loan Reimbursement Program (Visit Student Loan Reimbursement - Policies - MnDOT (state.mn.us) for more information).
