Fractional COO who knows how to sell ops services

Remote Full-time
I’m a Fractional COO looking for another experienced Fractional COO / ops consultant who has already figured out how to sell this kind of service - and can help me tighten my niche, positioning, and messaging so my marketing actually lands with the right owners. This is not about building my ops delivery. This is about helping me decide who to focus on and how to talk about what I do so it sounds urgent, concrete and worth paying for. ### About Me & My Current Practice (for the context) 12+ years corporate experience in operations / delivery. Now working as a Fractional COO with several small business owners - all of them came via referrals, not marketing. I work confidently with: • Small businesses up to $2M / year in revenue • Teams up to ~50 people • Mostly service businesses • Companies that already have enough clients and often some unsatisfied demand (they’re constrained by operations, not sales). Types of challenges I like and have delivered strong results with: • Scaling delivery capacity without burning out the team • Identifying revenue and profit leaks and tightening margins • Making quality a standard, not a heroic effort • Getting the team to work efficiently so the owner can rely on them • Reducing owner’s operational load while increasing control and predictability of the business My problem is turning that into a message strangers actually respond to. ### What I’m Looking For Help With I know operations can transform almost any small business - but that’s exactly why it’s hard to market. It sounds abstract, wide, and hard for owners to instantly grasp. I’m looking for paid consultancy from an experienced Fractional COO who has already figured out how to position and sell their own ops services. I want your guidance in identifying which problems to lead with, which audiences respond fastest, and how to express operations work in a way that feels concrete, urgent, and valuable to the right small business owners. I don’t need generic marketing theory (which I already ordered multiple times). I need someone who has personally solved the operations positioning challenge and can help me see what I’m missing. ### My current capacity and appetite Right now it's just me and one assistant. I’m not trying to build an agency. I want a clear niche, a message that consistently attracts the right owners, and a simple way to test it without adding complexity.
